Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Flavors mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Flavors, based in Sweden ("we", "us", or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Your Account

You may use parts of the Service as a guest without creating an account. When you create an account you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that remain inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where practicable.

3. The Service

Flavors lets you save, organise, plan, and cook recipes. Features include recipe import, scaling, meal planning, grocery lists, cook mode, and household sharing. We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes.

4. Your Content

"Your Content" means the recipes, images, notes, collections, and any other material you create, upload, or import into the Service. You retain full ownership of Your Content. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to provide the Service to you and to any household members you choose to share it with.

If you choose to publish a recipe publicly through the Service, you grant us an additional licence to display that recipe to other users and to feature it in discovery and promotional contexts. You may unpublish a recipe at any time, after which we will cease public display within a reasonable period.

You represent that you have the right to use and share any content you add to the Service and that it does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law;
• Upload content that is abusive, harmful, threatening, obscene, or that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure;
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or extract data from the Service without prior written permission;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to it.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, its original content (excluding Your Content), design, logos, and software are the property of Flavors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Ingredient icons used in the Service are by Icons8 and used under their free licence.

7. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers to function. These include Convex (backend infrastructure), Google (sign-in), and Resend (transactional email). Your use of Google sign-in is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy. Imported recipes are sourced from URLs you provide; we do not control and are not responsible for external websites.

8. Fees and Payment

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will clearly communicate pricing and obtain your consent before charging you. Existing free functionality will not be retroactively removed without reasonable notice.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Recipe content — including nutritional information, allergen data, ingredient quantities, and cooking instructions — is provided for informational purposes only and may contain errors. Always verify critical information (allergens, dietary requirements, temperatures, and cooking times) independently. We are not responsible for adverse outcomes from using recipe content.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law (including Swedish and EU consumer protection law), our total liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or fifty (50) SEK, whichever is greater.

We shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the account settings or dashboard. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, with notice where practicable. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will do so.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of Sweden shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force.
